Just sitting here.....

If you love colouring in or watercolouring then the Sitting Here stamp set from Stampin' Up! is perfect for you. You can look like a fully fledged watercolour artist without very much effort (or skill I might add!)

The set contains little elements that you can position in different ways to create scenes.

By wetting the watercolour paper with my aqua painter and then stamping the leaves from the Sheltering Tree stamp set in Emerald Envy I have created a watercolour effect. Peekaboo Peach blossoms add a nice touch.

To create a bit of depth I have added a light wash of Emerald Envy for the grass.

To give the cushions some life I have used the end of my aqua painter on the back to give a gentle curve. And yes I am still obsessed with my stapler!

Watercolouring is really fun but have you ever used your markers to do it? One way I use regularly is my aqua painter and the ink from the lid of an ink pad but using markers takes up less room and for messy people like me there is less chance of getting covered in ink. This way also is great if you have several people working at one time. All you do is scribble the colours onto a plastic surface. I find old CDs perfect for this. This becomes your palette. Use your aqua painter to pick up the ink and watercolour away.

To create the layered effect with the cat sitting in front of the chair back I have used a technique called masking. Stampin' Up! has a great video that you can watch and learn all about it here. Happy colouring!
